Background of the cooperation
The client’s perspective: “At Motorola, we place strong emphasis on close collaboration within teams that we build and grow together. One of the initiatives supporting our team efficiency are regular Kick-offs, which we organize several times a year.
While planning the next meeting, which aimed to set the direction for the upcoming operational period, we also decided to use this time for a developmental activity that would help us reach an even higher level of cooperation.
As a technology company, we value proven, scientifically validated solutions – including those in the area of soft skills development. That’s why we invited Leaders Island, with whom we have been collaborating for many years. We wanted to dedicate one day to a workshop that would deepen team members’ motivational awareness.

Project description
“Together with Leaders Island, we analyzed previous developmental activities to select the most effective approach that could fit within a single day – half of the time available during the Kick-off. It was crucial for us to maximize the use of this time.
Therefore, we decided on an asynchronous motivational diagnosis for each team member (an individual online assessment), followed by one-to-one consultations prior to the event. Thanks to this, participants came to the workshop already equipped with knowledge about their personal motivational structure, which significantly increased the value of the group work.
During the team workshop, the team leader received practical tools for everyday use, ensuring that motivation work would not be a one-off event but a process continued daily.
Each team member had the chance to understand their individual motivational structure, while the whole team got to know and analyze the team’s motivational matrix. This created space for a valuable discussion on how to collaborate more effectively while taking into account each member’s intrinsic motivations.
This activity made it possible to identify motivation sources at the team level and paved the way to translate this knowledge into increased engagement and efficiency.”

Methods & Tools
In this project, we applied the psychometric diagnostic tool Reiss Motivation Profile (RMP), which meets scientific criteria of validity, reliability, standardization, objectivity, and normalization.
Based on individual results, we organized a team workshop during which participants – equipped with new self-awareness – could reflect together on how to translate the acquired knowledge into daily collaboration.
A key element of the workshop was the team motivation matrix – a tool enabling analysis through, among others, medians and standard deviations. This allowed us to work with hard data in the soft area of motivation – and thus draw concrete conclusions that translated into team actions.

Results and Feedback
For many of us, the RMP workshop was a real ‘WOW effect’. We expected a valuable training session, but what we got was something that, for many participants, was a true eye-opener on how we function as a team and as individuals. It allowed us to understand not only our colleagues but, above all, ourselves. We gained a completely new perspective on our daily collaboration. If you’re looking for something beyond a one-off integration event and want to invest in tools that genuinely boost your team’s engagement and efficiency – this is it. A breakthrough experience for the team – I wholeheartedly recommend it to every leader!
