- a survey for co-workers of leaders (collaborating teams)
- a survey for the leaders’ supervisors (N+1)
2. What benefits will my company gain from participating in the study?
- HR work based on numbers and evidence: the report includes data analysis and guidelines that support HR decisions in building development programs for employees.
- Targeted employee development: supporting leaders in accordance with the real needs of teams and supervisors – meaning less reliance on hypotheses.
- Assistance in measuring the ROI of developmental activities: insights for the company that address the business strategy, not just “development for development’s sake” – providing a real profit for the organization.
- Market benchmark: the ability to compare required competencies and employee engagement levels against the market and industry – invaluable knowledge on “how we do it versus how others do it”.
- Building leader self-awareness: providing leaders with information on which competencies are crucial in their work – resulting in less time wasted acting blindly, greater team engagement, and lower turnover rates.
- Promoting an evidence-based approach and activities focused on employee development within the organization.
- Promotional opportunities for the organization: social media publications by both Leaders Island and the participating organization.
- The participating company may be granted a pool of free access passes to the Leaders Island online training: “Understanding Your Human Nature” by Philip Zimbardo (catalog price $99) to encourage employee participation in the study.
3. Who conducts the study?
- Leaders Island: the owner of the study, the initiating and organizing party responsible for the research, its substantive content, analysis and preparation of results, report creation, contact with partners, and other coordinating activities.
- AGH University, Faculty of Humanities, Department of Society and Technology Studies: the party responsible for analyzing the anonymized study results using sociological research methodologies.
4. Who participates in the study?
- Small, medium, and large companies, enterprises, departments, and units from various industries, including technology, IT, manufacturing, food & beverage, recruitment, automotive, security, and more.
- Willing participants of Leaders Island open training sessions.
5. What tool do you use to collect responses?
6. What is the role of the participating company (what do I have to do as the study coordinator in the company)?
The coordinator’s role is to support the coordination of conducting the study within the company. All activities related to the study itself, its content, the preparation of necessary materials for the participating company, or, for instance, an introductory meeting about the study for the company, are the responsibility of the organizer, i.e., Leaders Island.
7. Is the study anonymous (for those completing the survey)?
The study is fully anonymized. We do not collect the email addresses of participants or any other data that could help identify them. Information collected about respondents only covers demographics (the so-called “metric”), such as age, gender, and total work experience.
8. Can we sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA)?
Yes, NDA templates are available in Polish and English. We can also work based on a specific participating company’s NDA template.
9. Is the study (survey, report, other documents) available in English?
The study, results, and all documents are available in two language versions: Polish and English.
10. Can I see all the questions from the research survey before we join the study?
11. Where can I see the previous edition of the "Leadership Competence Index 2025" report?
The general report is available at: https://leadersisland.com/en/ikl-report/
12. Is participation in the study for a partner company, including the additional appendix with results profiled for that company, subject to a fee?
Yes. In the second edition of the study, we decided to introduce a fee due to the costs associated with the additional data analysis and the creation of an extra report tailored to the company. The price is determined individually and takes into account the number of appendices required by the company (e.g., whether one report is needed, or several separate ones for each branch or facility). If a company decides to participate in the study and is only interested in the general report, participation is free of charge.
