The exercise consists of “opening up” people at the meeting using the technique of providing one word. It causes a lot of interaction and stimulates the imagination. The technique involves providing one word that will complete a sentence given by the facilitator. This sentence can be about any topic, related to a challenge, or a casual story.
How to conduct this exercise?
Step 1:
Present the rules and the problem / sentence
Present the rules of the exercise. Each person provides 1 word that completes the sentence. If discussions arise, or someone does not provide a word, you start from the beginning. Then give an unfinished sentence, e.g.: This morning…
Step 2:
The next person speaks
The next person (either alphabetically, or randomly whoever volunteers) adds one word to this sentence.
Step 3:
Summary after the round ends
After the round ends (everyone has spoken), present the whole sentence and move on to the topic of the meeting
This is an interactive and laughter-inducing introductory exercise. It consists of people at the meeting answering the question: “What is your role in the team?” by choosing a GIF.
This exercise is good for getting to know the people you have a meeting or workshop with. Each person says what element they are and why. How to facilitate it?
