Working on values

Working on values – building awareness of values is a process of identifying, understanding, and recognizing our own life values that guide our actions, decisions, and priorities.

Awareness of values is crucial for achieving a sense of fulfillment, satisfaction, and harmony in personal and professional life. Additionally, you can be tempted to compare your personal values with the values of the company you work for, and thus consider the common points and possible frictions.

Step 1:
Self-analysis

Reflect on your values. What is the most important to you in life? What really motivates and inspires you? You can start by making a list of values that you consider important.

Step 2:
Reflection on the past

Review your life and think about what decisions you made in the past and why. What values guided your choices? What made you feel happy or dissatisfied with those decisions?

Step 3:
Discover what your intrinsic motivations are

Ask yourself what really motivates you and what makes you feel fulfilled. Is it teamwork, personal development, or something else? Understanding your deep motivations will help you better understand your values.

Step 4:
Social and professional context

Think about what values are important in your social and professional environment. Are your values consistent with your professional ones, or do they deviate from the norms?

Step 5:
Consolidation and acceptance
After identifying your values, accept them and commit to implementing them in your daily life. Try to make decisions consistent with what is really important to you.
Step 6:
Regular reflection

Try to constantly reflect on your values and monitor your progress in implementing them. Sometimes it is worth re-evaluating your priorities and adapting your actions to changing needs and circumstances
